|Lee 4 , acrylic on paper, 2015|
I took a small break from any moving-related stuff this week and managed to work on some new sculptures and also some portraits on paper.
As of today, we have exactly 1 week left in this old apartment. Can't wait to start fresh somewhere else. But it's quite challenging considering that we have to decide what we're bringing with us and what stays behind. Our new apartment is slightly smaller with less storage space. My studio space will be a lot smaller than the room that I have now. It's kind of hard for an artist like me who has a studio full of paintings, canvas and supplies to downsize. But this is really good practice for all of us since we're considering travelling to other parts of the world once Augusto finishes his degree in a couple of years.
I think the zen approach is the best approach in this situation.
After everything is said and done, how many glasses and dishes does one really need?

I'm surrounded by rolls of bubble wrap and cardboard boxes. Moving is not for the faint of heart.
May 1st is just around the corner and my heart swells with anticipation of getting out of this old apartment and into a new fresh environment. The weather has also been super sweet this week with lots of sunshine and warm temperatures, only adding to the newness and excitement of change.

My newest historical portraits are being featured on Buy Some Damn Art , an online contemporary art gallery curated by Kate Singleton. It's quite exciting to see my work on display along with other current contemporary art. Makes me feel that I'm on the right track and that my work is indeed relevant and that I do have something to contribute to the world.
